ARTISTIC
PROFIL
Born in
Belgium, André van Melle immigrated to Canada with his
spouse and two children in 1979
While raising
his family and remaining dedicated to his professional life, he
always felt the need to paint, to transpose his feelings about events
of daily life on canvas.
Finally, in
1994 he attended night classes at the Fine Arts School, Mission
Renaissance learning drafting, charcoal, pastel, oil, portraits and
nudes.
He continued
his academics with classes in art history, composition, art critic and
iconography.
He values
good academic knowledge believing that creativity will be endless when
basics are mastered.
Participating in prestigious exhibitions, such as Carrousel du Louvre
in Paris, Ottawa, FIMA, 400 of Quebec, he was rewarded with several
prizes
His creations
in very impressionist style bring the art amateur to connect with his
feelings.
« This
style allows for creativity and dreams, capturing the beauty of the
subject while remaining far from photography ».
He emphasises
the symbolic value of his work by painting various subjects, by paying
particular attention to composition and by using softness in his
colours.
The
power of true love, the need to protect children, the scandal of
racism, the beauty of pregnancy, the joy of a united family are all
part of his humanist values. André van Melle discovered in
Canada and in the Belle Province the serenity of
the nature, the candid freshness of the people and the light, so
essential to all painters.
His paintings
are owned by collectors in several countries and in various galleries.
